The 2016 Institute was held at The Renaissance in Chicago from Thursday, June 23, 2016 to Sunday, June 26, 2016. Co-chairs, Tom Ries and Richard Jacobs, report that it was a huge success. Both Introductory and Advanced Programs were presented. Although registration was “targeted” for 30 students for Introductory and 20 students for Advanced, the 2016 Institute had 32 students from 17 states in the Introductory Program and 31 students from 18 states in the Advanced Program.
- What single project or task would you consider your most significant accomplishment to date?
Surviving my oldest daughter's (now 15) middle school years is the single greatest challenge I’ve faced to date and therefore, my proudest accomplishment! I wasn’t always confident either of us were going to make it, but somehow, we both did.
- What is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Electronically stored information (“ESI”) is information that is stored in technology having electrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic or similar capabilities. Electronic Discovery, or e-discovery, is the use of legal means to obtain ESI in the course of litigation for evidentiary purposes. Together, they constitute interesting and important considerations and challenges that overlay family law as well as traditional civil litigation.

The Missouri Chapter of the AAML was pleased to host AAML President Joslin Davis and her husband, Fred Harwell, at their Chapter meeting at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza in April 2016. Joslin gave us an update of AAML action on the national level and we discussed recent developments in Missouri case law and legislation. We will be sponsoring the AAML Foundation luncheon in Chicago this year to honor Missouri fellow and new Foundation president, Anita Rodarte. The Chapter added three new members this year. We are planning our biennial Family Law
