AAML Foundation Updates

The AAML Foundation is pleased to announce its upcoming lineup of events this November in Chicago. These gatherings offer a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our shared mission, honor our dedicated supporters and reconnect with colleagues from across the country.

This Foundation Update explains how Fellows can maximize the charitable impact of their donations to the AAML Foundation while taking advantage of two powerful tax benefits.

Following the spectacular news that the AAML Foundation met its ambitious $365,000 donation milestone this year, a vital question emerges: How do these generous gifts transform into meaningful community action? The answer lies in the rigorous, behind-the-scenes work of our Grants Committee, expertly led by Chair Julia Swain and Vice Chair John Durward.

For decades, the AAML Foundation has demonstrated that the Academy’s commitment to families extends far beyond the courtroom. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded grants to 178 charitable organizations in 33 states and the District of Columbia, providing more than $3.27 million in support to programs that strengthen and protect children and families.

When the AAML Foundation was established in 1990, its vision was clear: to protect families and children negatively impacted by the breakup of the family unit, and to elevate family law through, among other things, collective generosity. We are thrilled to celebrate the stellar members of the “Chapter Billable Hour 100% Club”, representing Chapters with full participation.
