The Institute for Family Law Associates is lauded as “one of the best things that the AAML does for its Fellows”, and is “widely believed to be the premier program that the AAML produces.” A smart investment with impressive results!

The Introductory Course is Limited to 40 Registrants
This is a comprehensive training program designed for Associates with 1 – 5 years of family law experience. Course Topics Include:

  • Divorce Tax Issues
  • How to Read and Interpret 1040s, 1120s and Corporate Financial Statements
  • Basics of Business Valuation and Retirement Assets in Divorce.
  • Trial Preparation: Use of Experts and Handling Issues Arising From Social Media
  • Tips on Being the Most Effective 2nd Chair
  • Meeting with Clients and Key tools to Market the Law Firm
  • Understanding Personality Disorders that Present in Clients Counsel
  • Child Custody Practice From Intake to Resolution
  • Emerging LGBTQ Issues
  • UCCJEA and Hague Abduction Convention in International Custody Disputes

Faculty consists of experienced Academy Instructors and Nationally Known Experts:
Jay E. Fishman, Stacy Preston Collins and Kyle S. Garcia of Financial Research Associates
The Institute programs are taught by a nationally renowned faculty of Fellows who have decades of experience in mentorship helping associate lawyers successfully achieve higher levels of excellence. Each associate is assigned an individual Fellow faculty member who serves as a mentor and personally guides the attendee through all aspects of the program – answering questions, providing encouragement, and sharpening necessary skills, the associate will have a unique opportunity to meet peers and Fellows from diverse regions throughout the country. Making these connections has proven to expand networking prospects and referral bases and many of the relationships last for years afterward.

Fellows – $2400.00
Non-Fellows – $2700.00
