Drinks and Diversity

Please join us for Drinks and Diversity on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. CT. We will be discussing the role of religion and spirituality in the African American family and community, and the intriguing intersection of the church with the practice of family law. As we commemorate Black History Month, we consider the rich tapestry of experiences woven by African Americans throughout history. We will focus our lens on a crucial aspect that has been a guiding force, a source of strength, and a community cornerstone for generations – the intertwining of faith and familial ties within the African American context.
We will welcome three compelling speakers to help guide our discussion:
- Bishop Jeffrey Martin, Senior Pastor at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church
- Rev. Dennis Collins, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church
- Yusef Mgeni, Eucharist Minister and member of the Social Justice Committee at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church
