This presentation will explore why reasonable compensation is important in the area of family law. Factors to utilize in cross-examining a reasonable compensation expert will be presented including job/role/individual comparisons. Attendees will be educated on primary compensation elements and various data sources, good and bad, to assist them in cross-examination, or preparation of a compensation expert witness. Find out just when pay does become reasonable. Plus examples and samples of document and information requests will be shared by the speakers.

Kelly Anne Miles is a partner in Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles, P.A. in Gainesville, Georgia, where she has practiced for over 35 years since graduating from Mercer Law School. She is a Board Certified Advocate in Family Law through the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, currently serving as the Treasurer for the Georgia Chapter. Ms. Miles served as Chair of the Family Law Section for the State Bar of Georgia in 2012-2013. She has been named to Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and has an “AV” rating from her peers by Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Miles is a frequent presenter at CLE programs and is extensively involved in a multitude of non-profit organizations in her community, serving in key leadership roles for many of them.

Since then, he has amassed extensive experience in the area of compensation, focusing on designing innovative executive, broad-based and sales compensation programs. His core business is consulting with corporate clients across various industries in the area of compensation. In addition to his core corporate work, Mr. Rataj serves as an expert witness in the area of reasonable compensation.
