JOHN R. BOLT was a partner in the Tucson law firm of Donau and Bolt for 45 years, from 1973 through 2018 and is now with the firm Waterfall, Economidis, Caldwell, Hanshaw & Villamana, P.C. He was certified as a specialist in family law from 1992 through 2018. He received his B.A. degree (with high distinction, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi) and his J.D. degree (with distinction, Order of the Coif) from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the Pima County Bar Association, State Bar of Arizona and American Bar Association. He has served these bar associations in various capacities and is a former member and Chair of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section of the State Bar and was a founding member of the State Bar Advisory Commission for Family Law Specialization. He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1989 and is Past President of the Arizona Chapter. He is also a former delegate to the Family Law Council of Community Property States. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 1993 and was named the Best Lawyers’ 2014 and 2016 Tucson Family Law “Lawyer of the Year.” In addition, he has been included in Top Attorneys in Arizona from its inception, has been included in Southwest Super Lawyers from its inception in 2007, has been included in Arizona’s Finest Lawyers, and achieved and maintained since 1988 the highest rating (AV Preeminent) given by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been a frequent lecturer on family law and has been the chair or co-chair of various programs, including the family law seminar at the Arizona State Bar Convention and the annual advanced family law seminar. In addition, Donau and Bolt was included in U.S. News- Best Law Firms from its inception through 2018, with a Metropolitan Tier I Ranking in Family Law.
