Chapter: District of Columbia

The District of Columbia Chapter of the AAML welcomes you!

Greetings and a warm welcome from the Fellows of the District of Columbia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

The Academy was founded in 1962 by a group of highly respected attorneys to “provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law.” There are more than 1650 Academy Fellows in 50 states, 11 here in the District of Columbia. In order to be eligible for membership, attorneys must have substantial experience litigating complex family law matters, must be recommended by the bench and bar and must pass a rigorous examination. The Fellows of our Chapter are recognized as among the most qualified, respected and skilled family law attorneys in the country.
In addition to maintaining their active private practices, our Fellows are leaders in the legal community. We conduct legal education programs, author articles and books on family law topics and actively work to shape legal reform and legislation in the family law arena.

The Fellows of our Chapter look forward to providing valuable assistance in your family law matter.
